VP & Chief Actuary

A+ Rated property & casualty carrier is seeking a vice president and chief actuary be part of their senior management team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP & chief actuary oversees the actuarial department and has responsibility for the performance of the company's actuarial and statistical functions. This is an excellent opportunity with a financially strong, A+ rated carrier.


RESPONSIBILITIES
• Financial analysis & budget monitoring
• Liaison for home office and field offices
• Oversee reserves in specific lines of business and P&L of existing rate structures
• Direct and monitor all aspects of profitability analysis both retrospective and prospective, US GAAP long duration accounting implementation
• Development and pricing of new products
• Identify and address problem areas and raise as appropriate to management


Position Requirements

• BA/BS degree
• Fellow of the Society of the Actuaries
• Financial expertise
• Technical pricing in health, life, or casualty fields
• 10+ years experience in P&C and/or Accident & Health business
• Excellent Communication Skills
