Leading health insurance provider is seeking a Vice President,Small Group who will provide strategic direction, business planning, effective execution of business plan and overall executive leadership.

The Vice President, Small Group will have ultimate accountability for the short and long-term objectives, establishing policy and procedures, providing direction to the management team, P&L, growth and overall results from this division.

Vice President,Small Group serves as a business partner to the Senior Vice President. As a member of the leadership team the Vice President, Small Group is involved in shaping and executing all strategic and operational decisions. Prior experience in the managed care sector of health care—on the payor side is critical. More specifically, Individual and Small Group experience is highly desired.

Specific duties include:

• Develops strategic direction, business plan and ultimately accountable for Small Group P&L results.
• Maintains a high level of exposure and knowledge of all aspects of Health Care Reform. Responsible for understanding, analyzing and influencing the regulatory and political environment, collaborating with Corporate Public Affairs.
• Responsible for understanding and capitalizing on the competitive market.
• Collaborates with VP, including Broker, On-line and Direct Sales to develop and implement Small Group customer acquisition and retention strategies.
• Accountable for leading the definition, development and execution of Small Group short and long-term strategic product and communications plans.
• Collaborates with the Corporate Actuarial Team and Finance to develop and implement a pricing strategy.
• Collaborates with Network Management to develop and implement a network strategy.
• Responsible for understanding and driving the financial performance supported by the Finance Team • Partners with other cross functional teams to ensure services provided to our members is effective and meeting the changing needs of our customers.
• Collaborates with other leaders and cross-function business units to improve our market position.
• Provides effective thought leadership to the Leadership Team, other cross-functional leaders throughout the company and the Executive Council on Small Group related issues.
• Responsible for educating and keeping company current on changes in the marketplace as well as state and federal regulatory changes.
• Provides effective leadership in attracting and retaining top talent to drive the business results for this business segment.
• Works in partnership with customers, vendors, and other key stakeholders to deliver the service and products required.
