Executive Search Process
Our purpose is to be advisers to our clients during all stages of a search. Our goal is to exceed expectations by providing a solid slate of candidates and a smooth and comprehensive process, which includes five key phases:
Determine search priorities
Understand the purpose and goals of the role in addition to the history, structure, and operations of the company and department. Determine the skill sets, knowledge, abilities, and cultural fit required, offering insight and perspectives on how clients can think about their needs.
Develop a customized position and candidate specification, detailing the company, the role, responsibilities, goals and key challenges of the position as well as the experience, qualifications and competencies required for success.
Define the client priorities that will structure the search process.
Establish search strategy
Conduct targeted research into companies and sectors to find those with relevant skill-sets and qualifications, supplementing our extensive knowledge of and relationships with senior executives across industries and functions.
Develop a comprehensive list of prospects best qualified for the role, with the goal of providing genuine options for clients to consider.
Attract and evaluate candidates
Contact potential candidates to discuss their interest in the role, drawing on our insights about candidate interests and aspirations to persuade strong prospects to consider new opportunities.
Conduct thorough competency-based interviews with candidates based on the skills sets, knowledge, abilities and aptitudes outlined in the position specification.
Develop a short list of candidates with the qualifications and interest in the position
Present most qualified candidates for client interviews
Present the most qualified candidates based on in-depth written analysis and appraisal against the specification.
Drawing on informal external views on each candidate to confirm and enhance our knowledge of the candidate’s achievements and track record, provide meaningful insight into past performance and reputation.
Verify each candidate’s academic qualifications.
Complete the search
After the client has selected its preferred candidate, we can conduct background checks and referencing to further assess competencies, strengths and weaknesses, and to provide external observations of the individual.
Assist in compensation negotiations and other terms to help finalize the search.
Continue to communicate regularly with client and placement during transition.
Conduct client satisfaction survey to improve service and refine approach.
Periodically follow up with client and candidate once search is completed, checking in on the placement’s fit with the organization and the progress of the transition.
